For this show, we’re leaning into the bizarre, the obscure, and the oddly unsettling.

Absurdity can be loud and surreal or quiet and uncanny—think distorted perspectives, strange juxtapositions, and eerie oddities that blur the line between humor and horror.

Charlotte Art League is a judgement-free home for art in Charlotte, allowing underrepresented, emerging and local artists to embrace their voice and be heard. Operating costs are no fun, so we need help to redirect our funds in creating diverse art, uplifting our artists, and reinvigorating the Charlotte arts community.

    Theme: Art for the People, By the People

    Charlotte Art League invites local artists to donate one original piece of artwork to support our upcoming Art for the People, By the People Fundraiser & Gala on November 15th, 2025.

    All proceeds from the sale of donated works will go directly toward supporting CAL’s mission — to empower artists, sustain operations, and expand creative opportunities through education, exhibitions, and our new artist residency program.

    Each participating artist will:

    Have their work featured in the Art for the People, By the People Gala Exhibition

    Receive recognition in event materials, social media, and press coverage

    Help build a stronger, more connected creative community in Charlotte

    Join us in celebrating the power of art to unite and uplift our city.
    Together, we are Art for the People, By the People.
